Nakisa teaches Violin, Piano, Viola, and Beginner Cello to students of all ages. Lessons are currently available in Gaithersburg and Germantown, Maryland. She also has been training students to participate in MCYO and PVYO youth orchestras's audition. She has an extensive number of students who have been accepted to those orchestras.
No less than theory, technique and artistry, she strives to convey her love of music to each student and to help him or her find a kindred passion for the subject. She believes that a student who masters only theory and technique can play competently -- but one who has a love for music can soar!
Great things will grow with consistent practice and guidance. Students develop a keen ear as they are encouraged to develop their own personal tastes for style. Nakisa strives to create an environment in which students will learn to ask questions of themselves in order to facilitate the learning process as they continue to practice outside of the lesson studio.
As one would expect, thorough instruction in technique and theory provides the foundation for each student’s training. Using both traditional and Suzuki methods, she tailors her teaching to find the approach that works best for each student. As students master the basics, she helps each incorporate an increasingly sophisticated artistry into his or her performance. Teaching is a journey; not a destination. The best teachers are lifelong learners, continuing to attend workshops and learn from other master teachers.
Nakisa is a member of the Music Teachers National Association and Maryland Music Teachers Association
